The county superintendent of schools of any county contiguous
to an adjoining state may grant permission to pupils residing in the
county to attend elementary school or high school in a school
district of the adjoining state and may provide for the
transportation of the pupils to the school.
The superintendent of schools of a school district, or the
principal of a school, in an adjoining state attended by pupils
residing in an adjoining county in this state shall certify to the
county superintendent of schools of the county not later than July
2nd of each year the average daily attendance of pupils from the
county attending the school.
All requisitions drawn by the county superintendent of
schools under this article shall be approved by the county auditor
and paid by the county treasurer.
The county superintendent of schools may with the approval of
the county auditor transfer any unnecessary surplus in the county
school tuition fund to the county school service fund whenever in his
judgment the surplus will not be needed for the payment of tuition.
