The governing board of any district offering a nursing program, or related program in the healing arts, either in regular graded classes or in classes for adults, may maintain classes in such a program at hospitals located within or without the district for the purpose of providing the hospital training for students in such classes. The governing board may purchase liability insurance for the students with district funds.
