Pursuant to this article, the legislative body may take a
census of the city between the years of taking the federal census.
Such census shall be validated by the Population Research Unit of the
Department of Finance.
By resolution, the legislative body may declare its
intention to cause a census to be taken by suitable persons appointed
by it and at the city's expense.
The census of all the inhabitants shall be taken by the
appointed persons.
The persons taking the census shall enumerate all the
inhabitants of the city.
When completed, the census shall be verified before any
officer authorized to administer oaths, and filed with the city
clerk.
Upon receipt of the verified census, the clerk shall make a
certified copy. Thereafter it is the official census of the city.
