. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the
Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County shall be the Board of
Directors of the Mountain House Community Services District, until
conversion to a directly elected board of directors.
(b) When the registrar of voters certifies in writing that the
number of voters in the district has reached or exceeded 1,000, the
Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County shall adopt a resolution
placing the question of having an elected board of directors on the
ballot. The resolution shall specify whether the board of directors
will be elected at large, by divisions, or from divisions.
(c) If the question is submitted to the voters at a general
district election, the notice required by Section 12112 of the
Elections Code shall contain a statement of the question to appear on
the ballot. If the question is submitted to the voters at a special
election, the notice of election and ballot shall contain a statement
of the question.
(d) If a majority of voters voting upon the question approves of
electing the board of directors, the members of the board of
directors shall be elected at the next general district election.
