All provisions of Sections 26600 to 26604, inclusive, 26607
to 26608.1, inclusive, 26609, 26611, 26660 to 26664, inclusive, and
26680 of the Government Code, and Sections 262, 262.1, 262.2, 262.3,
262.4, and 262.5 of the Code of Civil Procedure, apply to marshals
and govern their powers, duties and liabilities.
Marshals shall charge and collect for their services the
fees, expenses, and mileage allowed by law to sheriffs. They shall
pay those fees into the county treasury on or before the fifth day of
each month, except where those fees, expenses, and mileage or a
percentage of them are allowed those officers.
The board of supervisors may establish a revolving fund for
the use of the marshal who serves the superior court within the
county and is a county officer, pursuant to Sections 29320 to 29331,
inclusive. The fund may only be used for services or materials that
are a legal charge against the county.
