Article 5. Renewals And Replacements of California Health And Safety Code >> Division 13. >> Part 2. >> Chapter 8. >> Article 5.
If any registration card or registration decal is stolen,
lost, mutilated, or illegible, the registered owner of the
manufactured home, mobilehome, commercial coach, truck camper, or
floating home for which it was issued, as shown by the records of the
department, shall immediately make application for, and may, upon
the applicant furnishing information satisfactory to the department
and paying the required fees, obtain a duplicate, substitute, or new
registration under a new registration number, as determined by the
department.
If any certificate of title is stolen, lost, mutilated, or
illegible, the legal owner of the manufactured home, mobilehome,
commercial coach, truck camper, or floating home for which it was
issued, as shown by the records of the department, shall immediately
make application for, and may, upon payment of required fees and the
applicant furnishing information satisfactory to the department,
obtain a duplicate certificate of title.
Except as otherwise provided in this part, every
registration card for a manufactured home, mobilehome, or commercial
coach subject to annual registration shall expire at midnight on the
expiration date indicated on the registration card and shall be
renewed prior to that expiration. The department, upon presentation
by the registered owner of the registration card or potential
registration card last issued and receipt of the proper renewal fees,
shall renew the registration of a manufactured home, mobilehome, or
commercial coach.
Certificates of title shall not be required to be renewed
annually, but shall remain valid until a new or amended certificate
of title is issued upon a transfer of any interest of the registered
owner or legal owner shown thereon.
When the required certificate of title is stolen, lost,
mutilated, or illegible, application for transfer may be made upon a
form provided by the department for a duplicate certificate of
ownership. The transferor shall sign and address the application, as
appropriate, and file it together with the proper fees for duplicate
certificate of ownership and transfer.
