The board may establish an advisory commission to the board
pursuant to this article.
The commission shall be composed of three persons appointed
by the legislative body of each voting entity. At least one of the
three persons appointed by each voting entity shall be a sitting
member of the voting entity's legislative body. Persons appointed to
the commission shall serve at the pleasure of their appointing body.
The commission shall meet as often as the board deems
necessary, but at least twice annually, and shall advise the board on
matters of district policy, including the administrative, fiscal,
and operational policies of the district and their relation to the
administrative, fiscal, and operational policies of the cities and
counties in which the district is operating, levels of service, and
allocation of the districts financial resources. The commission shall
have such other advisory duties as may be provided by the board
pursuant to this part.
