The board of supervisors of the office county shall fill by
appointment vacancies in the offices of directors, provided that any
such appointed directors shall be required to run for election in the
next succeeding general district election.

filled pursuant to Section 1780 of the Government Code.
A board shall fill by appointment vacancies in the offices
of assessor, collector, and treasurer. If the board fails to make an
appointment within 40 days, the board of supervisors of the office
county shall make the appointment.
