Within 10 days after the close of the period for filing objections, the board shall mail copies of the objections to the claimant or water user against whom the objections are directed and shall notify by registered mail the persons whose rights are significantly affected to appear before it at a time and place specified and at such time and place the objections will be heard. The time specified shall be as soon as practicable but not less than 15 days from the date of the mailing of the notice of hearing.
The board may adjourn hearings of objections from time to time upon reasonable notice to all parties in interest.
The costs of taking testimony at a hearing on an objection shall be borne by the parties thereto as follows: each party shall pay for the direct examination of his own witness and the cross-examination of opponent's witness, and the parties shall share equally for that part of the examination directed by the representative of the board.
One copy of the transcript of testimony taken at the hearing shall be furnished to the board at the cost of the parties.
